Who is entitled to a free Eye Test?
You may be eligible for a free NHS eye test if you are:
- Under 16 years old (or under 19 in full-time education)
- Over 60 years old
- Diagnosed as diabetic
- A diagnosed glaucoma patient
- Aged 40 or over and have a direct family history of Glaucoma
- Receiving certain benefits such as Income Support, Universal Credit, or Pension Credit Guarantee.

Paul Campbell MCOptom
A fellow Carrickfergus resident, our lead optometrist Paul Campbell BSc MCOptom has many years experience working in several opticians in Northern Ireland. He now operates his own independent opticians in Carrickfergus – his home town.
He is fully registered with the General Optical Council (GOC) since February 2014 (GOC No. 01-27883) and has years of clinical experience in primary eye care.

The opticians is located in the historic Lancasterian Street in the heart of Carrickfergus – 7 Lancasterian Street, Carrickfergus, BT38 7AB. It is located just past the Carrickfergus Civic Centre and Museum and DeCourcy Centre and a short distance from the famous Carrickfergus Castle.
